Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta has taken voluntary retirement. This follows a long-standing dispute between the Centre and the state government. Gupta’s tenure was marked by controversy and legal challenges. The state had amended rules to extend his term. The Centre had objected to this. Tadasha Mishra is now the acting DGP, the first woman to hold the position.
