California Senator Alex Padilla abruptly walked out of a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing, protesting what he called a politically driven attack on immigrant communities. The hearing, titled “Radical Left’s Crusade Against Immigration Enforcement,” focused on President Donald Trump’s expanding mass-deportation agenda. Padilla condemned ICE’s tactics, citing incidents of agents targeting schools, churches and families, and said he would not “give oxygen” to a hearing designed to spread disinformation rather than seek solutions. After delivering his remarks, he exited the room. Witnesses scheduled to testify included a Texas sheriff, a conservative activist from Chicago Flips Red, and a Washington Examiner journalist.
