CAT 2025 Exam Date
The CAT exam 2025 will be held on November 24, 2025 (Sunday) in three sessions across India. The official website for all updates is iimcat.ac.in.
Registration Details
Online registration will begin from August 7, 2025, and end on September 20, 2025. The registration fee is:
₹2500 for General/NC-OBC
₹1250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates
Candidates can apply through the official CAT portal – iimcat.ac.in.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the CAT entrance exam, you must:
Hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD)
Final-year students can also apply
CAT Exam Syllabus & Pattern
The CAT syllabus is divided into 3 sections:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Quantitative Ability (QA)
Each section is timed (40 minutes per section). The exam has MCQs and non-MCQs, with negative marking for MCQs.

Going through last year’s CAT paper and previous years’ CAT papers can help you understand the exam pattern and level of difficulty. They are available for free download on the official site and other exam portals.
