Ahead of COP30, as many as seven new proposals, each calling for formal discussions and negotiations, were submitted by countries and negotiating groups including the EU, small island states, least developing countries and like-minded developing countries. Broadly, these submissions sought formal negotiations on accelerating emission reductions and facilitation of funds by developed countries.
