Delhi doctors restart blood circulation after death for organ donation, first in Asia

Doctors in Delhi have achieved a first in Asia by successfully restarting blood circulation post-mortem in a 55-year-old woman to facilitate organ donation. Using Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) with ECMO, the medical team preserved her liver and kidneys for transplantation after she was declared dead. This pioneering procedure expands organ donation possibilities in India beyond brain death.
