India is opening its nuclear energy sector to private companies. US firm Clean Core Thorium Energy is ready to supply its thorium-based fuel, ANEEL. This fuel uses thorium and enriched uranium. India has vast thorium reserves and aims to use them for energy security. Private players are expected to boost nuclear power capacity.
