Mumbai, October 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Phase 2B of the Mumbai Metro Line-3 (Aqua Line), completing the city’s first fully underground Metro corridor. Built at a cost of ₹12,200 crore, this phase connects Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, marking a major leap in Mumbai’s transport infrastructure.

With the completion of this 10.99-km stretch, the entire Mumbai Metro Line-3 — from Aarey Depot (JVLR) to Cuffe Parade — is now operational, transforming daily commute options for over 13 lakh passengers.


 About Mumbai Metro Line-3 (Aqua Line)

The Mumbai Metro Line-3, also called the Aqua Line, is a fully underground Metro network spanning 27 stations across South and North Mumbai. Developed at a total cost of ₹37,270 crore, the line connects key commercial, residential, and heritage zones of the city.

Regular services begin September 15, operating between 5:55 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk.
