#VacineCentury: India crosses the 100 crore mark on vaccination, PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah share the hashtag, PM visits RML Hospital

India has hit a new milestone in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Early in the day on 21st October, Prime Minister tweeted #VacineCentury to share the news of India crossing 100 crore jabs of the vaccinations. 

 

PM tweeted "21st October 2021 will forever be remembered in the history books! #VaccineCentury" along with the tweet PM addressed the citizens with a video message.

Among the 100-crore doses administered 70 crores are the first doses administered, the rest vaccines were the second dose. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh are the top 5 states to receive the dose respectively, according to the Co-Win website. 

PM called the day historical, as India celebrates 1 billion jabs. PM Modi also congratulated citizens, health care workers, and frontline workers. Home minister Amit shah shared a picture of the Prime minister with the caption "We Did It" along with the hashtag.

As a part of a scheduled visit to celebrate the vaccine century, PM also visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and shred pics on Twitter with the caption "Today, when India has achieved a #VaccineCentury, I went to a vaccination centre at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The vaccine has brought pride and protection in the lives of our citizens."

Many special events are planned by the central government to make this event. The 1,400 kg tricolor will be hosted on the red fort with dimension 225X150 feet, SpiceJet will make a special delivery at Delhi airport and celebratory festivities will take place in government hospitals. 

Union Health Minister Mandaviya, will share a short audio-visual film and a song sung by Kailash Kher.
