Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to commence a significant political journey from Manipur to Mumbai, named the 'Bharat Nyay Yatra', on January 14. This extensive outreach campaign, announced by Congress general secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, aims to cover a distance of 6,200 km, passing through 14 states and 85 districts over 65 days, with the grand culmination in Mumbai on March 20.

Following the footsteps of his previous 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', Gandhi plans to engage with the youth, women, and marginalized sectors of society throughout this journey. The yatra will traverse through states including Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and finally Maharashtra.

In contrast to the previous on-foot yatra, the 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' will primarily be conducted on a bus to maximize interaction with the public along the route, although it will include short walking segments periodically. This strategic change aims to enhance the outreach and impact of the journey.

The decision for this new yatra came after a unanimous agreement within the Congress Working Committee on December 21, emphasizing the need for Gandhi to lead another substantial public engagement initiative. This yatra is seen as a crucial step for the Congress party to reconnect with various communities and build momentum as the nation gears up for future electoral challenges.

As the country watches, the 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' is poised to be a significant event on the Indian political calendar, drawing attention to the issues and concerns of people across a vast swath of the nation. With its extensive itinerary and ambitious goals, the yatra is expected to be a critical platform for the Congress party to articulate its vision and policies ahead of crucial electoral battles. As January 14 approaches, all eyes will be on Rahul Gandhi and his journey from the northeastern hills of Manipur to the bustling streets of Mumbai.
