Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal once again did not comply with the Enforcement Directorate's summons in the Delhi liquor policy case, marking the third instance of non-cooperation with the probe agency. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared the summons illegal, asserting that their primary objective is to detain Mr. Kejriwal.

This refusal follows two previous instances where Mr. Kejriwal, who is also the AAP's national convenor, did not appear in response to the notices for November 2 and December 21. Despite his non-compliance, the AAP affirms that Mr. Kejriwal is willing to cooperate but insists that the summons are unjust and aimed at his arrest.

Tensions have escalated as the AAP questions the timing of the notice, suggesting that it is a strategic move to hinder Mr. Kejriwal's campaigning efforts in the upcoming elections. The party's allegations point towards a perceived attempt to weaken their electoral position.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had previously questioned Mr. Kejriwal in April concerning the same case. However, he has not been formally accused by the agency. This ongoing confrontation has led to widespread speculation about the potential arrest of the Delhi chief minister, especially given the recent arrest of AAP figures in related cases. Notably, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested in February, and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was taken into custody in October.

The AAP has been vocal in its criticism, suggesting that these actions are part of a broader strategy to destabilize the party. The escalating situation has drawn attention to the intense political environment in Delhi, with the AAP and its opponents engaging in a heated exchange of accusations and defenses.

As the situation unfolds, the public and political analysts alike are keenly observing the developments. The outcome of this standoff will not only influence the legal proceedings against prominent AAP members but also potentially impact the political landscape in the capital city and beyond.
