Nawazuddin Siddiqui notified the media, his decision to take a step back from working on OTT. The star shared the news with the media, after expressing his unhappiness with the working style and content available on the digital platform.
Nawazudin calls the platform 'redundant and a ‘dumping ground’ for the shows that don't catch the audience on other screens.
"When I did Sacred Games for Netflix, there was an excitement and challenge around the digital medium. New talent was being given a chance. Now that freshness is gone. It has become a dhanda for big production houses and actors, who are the so-called stars of the OTT platform," says Nawaz.
Siddiqui said that the abundance of content available online has reduced the quality. With the vast variety of shows, people simply move one to the next matter if the subject and story are not interesting enough.
"We either have shows which don't deserve to be seen in the first place or sequels to shows that have nothing more to say " said Siddiqui.
The actor performed in many Netflix shows like Sacred Games, Serious Men, Raat Akeli Hai, and many movies.
"When I can't bear to watch them, how can I bear to be in them?" he added.
