Simple techniques to reduce overthinking and anxiety symptoms

 

Overthinking and anxiety are a vital part of your life as it brings our vision to what needs attention. It makes us remember that something is going wrong and needs to be changed. However anything in excess is fetal as it leads to many mental health problems. Individuals suffering from overthinking or anxiety start living their life in their mind rather than in reality. The next time you find yourself being anxious over any situation get up and start shaking your body in order to shift the attention and try any of the activity listed below to calm your mind:

 

Meditate

Mediation is a great way to control your thoughts. Practicing it for 5 mins daily calms your nervous system and shifts your attention towards reality. It emotionally clams your body and brings you to a state of a well being.

 

Find a distraction 

It is always advised to get yourself a hobby. It's a great way to escape from your thoughts for a time being and shuts overthinking. Any activity like painting, reading , dancing which calms your mind can be performed daily for at least 30 mins.

 

Grab a pen

The less emotions or thoughts you feel the more happier you will be in your life. Journaling has many unsaid benefits. You will always have a sense of calmness once you write your thoughts in any form of paper. 

 

Take Action

Instead of using your energy to worry, use it to take accountable action to change the situation. Build momentum and stick to it till the situation which makes you anxious no longer exists.

Cut off the gadgets, take a deep breath, go for a walk in nature as it provides solutions to every problem, focus on each step and remember the things to be grateful for.
