Does counting calories help you lose weight?

The dieting market is very flourishing. People around the world spend over a thousand million dollars on losing weight in the form of diet pills, dietitian and nutritionist consultation, and weight-loss devices. 

In weight loss mechanisms and techniques, the most preferred and well-known is counting calories. counting calories involve keeping track of the intake of food and measuring the macro and micronutrients involved 

 

What is calories:

Calories, in scientific terms, are the heat energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water to 1 degree celsius. 

In layman's terms calories is an empirical amount of energy produced in the body with the food eaten. All food has a set amount of calories in it. 

The body consumes calories with each physical activity. the more you are physically active, the more calories are burnt. 

This explains the law of counting calories that help in losing weight.

 

How are calories consumed? 

Calorie breaking does not require much additional effort. 

When breaking down fat in food, the body consumes 9 calories per gram. when it comes to protein and fat, or body consumes 4-gram calories per gram 

Basic activities of our body also require calories, such as breathing, kidney functioning, heart beating, internal organ processes, and digesting. 

 

Does counting calories help?

With everything we eat, we consume calories. more calories are present in friend and spicy heavy food, and food with high fiber tends to have lower calories. 

Doctors agree with counting calories and a method for losing weight. 

But when it comes to the process, counting calories is not only fiction if you are merely noting it down and not actively monitoring. 

If you are consuming fewer calories than you are burning, then only counting calories helps in weight loss. It's a simple formula: if your calorie intake is lower than consumption, you are losing calories and indirectly weight. 

Carbs play an important role in counting calories. high carb food has a high-calorie count, high fiber food has low carb. and both will make for similarly full. 

Therefore, counting calories to lose weight is not a myth, and in fact, does help in losing weight.
