One Million Dollar Puzzle Game

The Million-dollar puzzle game was an innovative contest designed by MSCHF. Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame (MSCHF) is American art. It is famous for organizing activities and cultural events and rewarding its participants. It launched on June 8, 2021, and ended on January 10, 2022. 

The million-dollar puzzle provided the participants with all the fun of jigsaws. Along with this, it also offered a chance to win one of two $1 million prizes.  

The title of the puzzle came from the ultimate prize. With this puzzle, all the participant had to do was buy and complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle. If the participant completed it perfectly, it provided them the opportunity to win up to $1,000,000 cash. There were also payouts of $10,000, $1,000 and $100.

About jigsaw

The jigsaw was like a brain-teaser. A single puzzle was available for $30. On buying two packs, it cost $56 (6% off). On buying three, it cost $80 (11% off). It implied that the more packs the participant purchased, the cheaper it got. It contained 500 pieces with no image on the box, and the participants had to use other techniques to assemble them. Each puzzle depicted a unique QR code. There was a visual gradient on the code, which helped to make the pieces look similar to each other. It had codes different from one another and was a perfect game for a friendly competition between friends, families, and co-workers.

About prizes

Everyone won something, so nobody got disappointed. Prizes ranged from 25 cents to $100, $1000 or $1000000. Digital checks were transferred to the online accounts and printed out and cashed. The participant just had to scan the code, enter the included verification that came with the puzzle, and then the puzzle million-dollar prize got emailed to them.

 

How did the game work?

  1. The participant, firstly, had to buy a jigsaw puzzle.

  2. Then they had to complete that puzzle.

  3. Scan their completed puzzle.

How did the participant scan the code? 

Once the puzzle was assembled, the participant had to open the camera on their phone or tablet and point it steadily for 2-3 seconds towards the QR code. Then the scanning was used to get enabled, and a notification appeared. 

Two Million-Dollar Puzzle Game

MSCHF then brought The Two Million Dollar Puzzle. The working of this game was the same as the one million dollar puzzle game. Everyone was a winner, and there were no losers.  

The 2 Million-dollar puzzle cost $30, and on buying 2, it saved $4, and so on. The more the participant purchased, the cheaper it got.
