The million-dollar puzzle provided the participants with all the fun of jigsaws. Along with this, it also offered a chance to win one of two $1 million prizes.
The title of the puzzle came from the ultimate prize. With this puzzle, all the participant had to do was buy and complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle. The jigsaw was like a brain-teaser. A single puzzle was available for $30. On buying two packs, it cost $56 (6% off). On buying three, it cost $80 (11% off). It implied that the more packs the participant purchased, the cheaper it got. It contained 500 pieces with no image on the box, and the participants had to use other techniques to assemble them. Each puzzle depicted a unique QR code. There was a visual gradient on the code, which helped to make the pieces look similar to each other.
