Saudi bans international flights from 16 countries with Covid re-outbreak

 

Saudi Arabia has banned any international flights incoming and outgoing too and from 16 countries including India, due to a rise in the number of covid cases.  

The countries apart from India include Turkey, Vietnam, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Armenia, Belarus, and Venezuela

In addition to the re-outbreak of the virus, another viral disease is threatening public health. The monkeypox case is threatening the lives of people in  11 countries. with 80 confirmed registered cases, all nations have released advisory against the pox. 

"Until now, cases of transmission between humans are very limited, and therefore the possibility of any outbreaks occurring from it, even in countries that have detected cases, are very low," Deputy minister of health, Abdullah Asiri quoted to ANI. 

“We lower our guard at our peril. Declining testing and sequencing means we are blinding ourselves to the evolution of the virus." WHO director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. 

Indian alone has had 2000 new Coronavirus cases in just the last week.
