We all make sweets at home, be it a birthday cake or ice cream for Sunday afternoon. Sweets purchased from the market may be as sweet, but homemade desserts have a unique taste and love.
One of the most important ingredients in many mithai and sweets is condensed milk. Condensed milk is a sweet substance that enhances the taste of sweet dishes. It is made by removing water components from cow milk.
Market-bought condensed milk is expensive and not available in the market many times. Especially during the festive seasons, finding condensed milk is very hard. Making condensed milk at home on the other hand is easy and economical. Condensed milk is easy to make at home and is safer as compared to purchasing it at the market.
Ingredients:
To make condensed milk, you only need three ingredients. One of the ingredients is milk. You can use any type of milk, packaged or fresh cow's milk, as per the availability. The other two ingredients are sugar and baking soda. Sugar gives the condensed milk its sweet taste and soaking soda reduces the milk into a thick consistency.
Process:
The whole process time depends on the quantity and quality of the milk. The first step is to bring the milk to a boil. Once the milk reaches its boiling point, add sugar into the liquid and stir thoroughly, so the sugar dissolves in the milk. Soon the milk starts to thicken and boil, ass banking soda and stir again. Soon the liquid starts to boil and thicken, then remove the utensil from the flame and let it cool to condense. The end result is thick creamy and sweet condensed milk.
Use this as per requirement and make your festivities sweet and safe.
