Bank holidays in April 2022

 

As per the RBI calendar banks will remain closed 15 days in the month of April full stop the banks will remain closed on first April due to the first year of the new financial year starting and on second April due to the first Navratri. April also celebrates Aaj Gudi Padwa and Telugu new year.

Sarhul and Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday falls on fourth and 5th April thus banks will remain closed in some parts of the country.

Banks across the country will be closed on 14th 15th and 16th April to celebrate Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar jayanti Mahavir jayanti Baisakhi Tamil new year and Vishu. 

On 21st April, garia Puja and on 29th April Shab-i-qadr or Jumat-ul-vida will be celebrated. 

 

April 1: Yearly Closing of Bank Account — All over India except Aizawl, Chandigarh, Shillong, and Shimla.

April 2: Gudi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/1st Navratra/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba) — Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu, Goa, and Jammu & Kashmir

April 3: Sunday

April 4: Sarhul — Jharkhand

April 5: Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday- Telangana

April 9: Second Saturday

April 10: Sunday

April 14: Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Mahavir Jayanti/Baisakhi/Vaisakhi/Tamil New Year’s Day/Cheiraoba/Biju Festival/Bohag Bihu — All over India except Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh

April 15: Good Friday/Bengali New Year’s Day (Nababarsha)/Himachal Day/Vishu/Bohag Bihu — All over India except Rajasthan, Jammu, and Srinagar

April 16: Bohag Bihu — Assam

April 17: Sunday
