How often do you waste time on Instagram, endlessly scrolling through the application, but now Instagram has found a middle way for you to scroll through your feed without missing any post from your friend or favorite creator?
"Today, we’re introducing Favorites and Following, two new ways to choose what you see in your feed. We want you to be able to shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you ways to quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in that direction. "
Following:
with the following section in the upper left corner of your application, you can scroll through all the posts in chronological order. all the people you 'follow' on Instagram, will have their posts showing in your feed without any sponsored content in between.
Favorite:
with the favorite list, you can add 50 creators or friends, these people will be notified, added, or removed from the list. the post made by these people will show up higher on your list.
The new update:
"We’re always working on new ways to improve your Instagram experience. We'll continue to build features like Favorites and Following to give you more choice and control over what you see, and help make the time you spend on the app feel more intentional."
This also forks in favor of the algorithm in understanding the popularity of the creator and reaching a better target audience.
