The well-known vocalist Neha Kakkar disappointed her fans by showing up three hours late for her March 24, 2025, performance in Melbourne.
"After such a long time, you were waiting... I hate it. I never make anyone wait in my entire life," said Neha, who finally appeared on stage extremely soon, while choked up and crying symbolic tears. "I'll ensure... I'll make you all dance," she added.
Although her emotions reflected in her apology, many fans who came to the concert took to social media to show their anger. In recordings uploaded to the internet, attendees can be heard shouting something like, "This isn't India, you're in Australia," and "We waited for over two hours." Some even accused her of acting, saying, "This isn't Indian Idol."
The incident created mixed reactions on social media. A section of people condemned Neha for the delays, and another section defended her. For instance, a fan said, "The issue was with the organizers and Neha performed without payment just to ensure that the show did not get cancelled." Another mention he made was that she chose to perform despite all this noise.
Before coming to Melbourne, Neha performed in Sydney. Besides her many other hits, such as "Second Hand Jawaani," "Manali Trance," and "Kala Chashma."
This even illustrates clearly that live events are not easy for artists, despite the many different reactions from members of the audience when everything doesn't go as planned.
