They chose Mars because Mars is one of Earth's closest habitable neighbors. Its atmosphere is primarily CO2 with some nitrogen and argon and a few other trace elements, which means that we can grow plants on Mars just by compressing the atmosphere. 

Gravity on Mars is about 38% of that of Earth, so you would be able to lift heavy things and bound around. Of this, private equity provided about $200M, with Musk investing approximately $100M and other investors having put in about $100M. SpaceX just finished a notable spaceflight tripleheader, launching and landing three rockets in just over 36 hours.

Jeffrey Preston Bezos is an American entrepreneur, media owner, investor, computer architect, and commercial astronaut. He is the founder, executive chairman and former president and CEO of Amazon. 

With a net worth of around US$171 billion as of June 2022. Bezos founded the aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company Blue Origin in 2000 towards the race for space. 

He expressed an interest in space travel and the growth of human life in the solar system. The organization's goal is to make a future where people live and work to benefit the earth. With this, Bazos became another billionaire in space. 

 

Richard Branson

Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson is a British billionaire in space, entrepreneur, commercial astronaut and business tycoon. In the 1970s he founded the Virgin Group, which today controls more than 400 companies in various fields. With a net worth of around 400 USD. 

Branson, the irreverent, 71-year-old British billionaire who leads a galaxy of Virgin companies. In 2004, he founded Virgin Galactic to provide adventurous tourists with rides on rocket-powered planes to the edge of space and back. He was the first billionaire in space with his innovative plan to expand the reach of mankind.
