Delhi - Vaishno Devi travel reduced by 5 hours, NHAI new project benefits pilgrims

National Highways Authority of India has started the construction of  Delhi-Amritsar-Katra to facilitate fast and convenient travel for the pilgrims traveling from Delhi to Vaishno Devi in a short duration. 

The distance without the corridor is 727 km, but with the constriction of the greenfield expressway, the distance will be reduced to 588 km, this will cut the travel time by 5 hours. now it will only take 7 hours, instead of 12 hours of the usual time. 

The expressway will be linked to many holy places, between Delhi and Katra. if traveling by the express what the pilgrims will be traveling via, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Kapurthala. 

The final stops will be Katra and Jammu. This project improves connectivity between the capital and the pilgrimage of Vaishno Devi. The total cost is estimated to be 35,000 Crore, for the project. 

The expressway is expected to be completed by 2023.
