5G connectivity in India is not far from reality now. After Jio made 4G a commonplace phenomenon for the user in India, Tech Mahindra and Cisco are collaborating to bring 5 bg in India.
The collaboration is to build an optical transportation network through the Cisco routed optical networking. Tech Mahindra has invested in optical networking labs and specialized services to grow 5G connectivity projects in the major cities in India, slowly extending the project to include all other areas.
“5G connectivity, network intelligence, and edge computing are unleashing a whole new world of opportunities such as the delivery of immersive experience using Metaverse, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), among others. The network infrastructure of the future will need to be even more agile and software-driven, to bring such possibilities into life. As a trusted transformation partner, our mission is to help service providers re-imagine the future of connectivity and accelerate 5G adoption. Through this collaboration with Cisco, Tech Mahindra will make Routed Optical Networking solutions smarter, simpler, and easy to deploy and operate for service providers.” said Manish Mangal, Global Head of Business and 5G and Network Services, Tech Mahindra.
The aim of the project is to make the network of 5g connectivity with the lowest cost available but without compromising with the quality. The project will be a state-of-the-art connectivity project that will require minimum maintenance and will have a long life. Environmental sustainability is also an integral part of the goal
