Driver's license updates: Change Name and date of birth from home said Kailash Gahlot

The driving license process is very troublesome and hard, it requires a lot of running around, going from one booth to another, filling forms, and it's very time taking. Even after your details come out to be wrong on the card it can be even more time taking to get the details corrected. 

Now this problem has been solved by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. you can now make a correction to the driving license from your home online. For this, the cardholder will have to visit the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways website. 

 Delhi Transport minister Kailash Gahlot notified people in Delhi about the news through Twitter. The correction in name and date of birth can be done through online web portals. 

The order was issued on September 14 by the transportation department. For making updates or corrections in the date of birth, the documents that are acceptable include the AADHAR card, intermediate or matric certificate with date of birth, a Birth certificate issued by the municipal corporation, passport if available. 

If the candidate wishes to change the name the list is provided for the valuable document. AADHAR card, passports(if available), newspaper notification/advertisement of the name change, and affidavit issued by a first-class judicial magistrate or a notary are considered valid as a legal document for name change in driving license. 

For women seeking to change the name in the driving license, an affidavit by a first-class judicial magistrate or a notary, marriage/remarriage certificate, divorce decree are required. incase of the death of the spouse, the death certificate is needed to be submitted as well. The advertisement copy in the Delhi edition of any national newspaper is also required for the process.
